You are invited to this year’s gathering of practitioners, theologians, pastors and ministry leaders who will be in conversation on this year’s topic: ‘Advocating for Justice Within Traumatized Communities’.
Friday evening’s conversation will focus on the deep-rooted connections between trauma, injustice, brain development and health and the church’s role in response.
Saturday morning’s discussion will focus on sexual violence in families, communities, and churches. A good support system is integral to one’s recovery and we will delve into how to better embody God’s care for our sisters and brothers on their journey to recovery.
Saturday afternoon’s dialogue will focus on our call to engage Biblical justice as a community. Collaboration will require a framework that laments historical atrocities, honors the realities of systemic power imbalances, and encourages the leveraging of privilege in God-honoring ways that advances the mission of God.
If you are interested in your faith community moving from good intentions towards holistic praxis we invite you to come and be a part of this year’s discussion.
